Why do I need a website?
Every business should have a web presence. How often do you reach for the yellow pages these days to find out how late the local department store is open, or what time the newest movies are showing? There is no need to pick up the phone and wait for an answer anymore, as a quick web search will land you on a website that provides this and much more information. Today, many people are choosing the same strategy for finding a reputable plumber, a convenient dry cleaner, and even a new doctor.
The trend away from traditional telephone landlines is only making the need for a web presence much more urgent. According to some industry analysts, as many as 25% U.S. households rely on mobile telephones alone, with telecom operators reporting a loss of as many as 700,000 customers per month1. Not only does this not bode well for the future of the local telecom, neither does it bode well for the future of the local yellow pages. Having a website is no longer just nice to have, it’s crucial to the future success of your business.
